19) The Gilded Age and the Progressive Movement (Part II)

Read the passage from The Jungle on page 89. What feelings do you get after reading this very graphic and detailed passage? Does it make you angry, sad, upset, disgusted?

  1. I have read the passage form the jungle on 89. I feel mad because people and to eat that like that. The food they had to eat meet that was tumbled out on the floor in the dirt and the sawdust. The food was mix with rats and old sausage.

  2. My feeling after reading the jungle are disgust because never the least attention paid to what was cut up for sausage. They would come bak from Europe old eausage that had been mouldy and white-it. And also rats that where nuisances.

  3. After reading the passage on pg 89 I felt disgusted with the events hat happed . for instance the meat again used for processing. There was rats all over the meat and then processed all together .

  4. I felt disgusted because rats were nuisances and the packers would put poisoned bread out for them they would die and then rats , bread, and meat would go into the hoppers together.
